About

Intersecting perspectives

DIVA was not born in the hushed salons of traditional wine trading, but from the meeting of three partners with complementary paths – a native of Bordeaux, a half-Bordelais, and a passionate outsider. That diversity of horizons shaped our identity: a house where openness to the world is not a posture, but part of our DNA.

Today, Ryan Brown embodies that vision with the energy of his thirty-four years and an insatiable curiosity that constantly drives him toward new horizons. An Oxford-born Englishman with a passion for gastronomy, he shares the same conviction: true innovation does not erase heritage, it elevates it. His presidency marks DIVA’s entry into a new era – one where the wisdom of experience engages in dialogue with the boldness of youth.

A story still being written

In the inward-looking Bordeaux of the late 1970s, creating DIVA was a bold gamble. Three partners with unconventional profiles dared to challenge the established codes. Their intuition? The great wines of Bordeaux should not remain prisoners of tradition. They deserve to be discovered by the world.

For nearly five decades, that philosophy has guided every decision we make: to reveal excellence, even when it is confidential. To venture into less-charted countries, to build bridges where others saw only markets. Central Asia, the Emirates… DIVA understood long before many others that successful globalization respects local identities.

We have never sought to conquer markets. We have cultivated friendships. This humanist approach shapes our reputation. Our partners are not simply clients – they become family. The Grands Crus Classés place their trust in us. Visionary importers choose us. Bottle after bottle, relationship after relationship, DIVA continues to write its story.

The values that drive us

We embrace a hedonistic culture, one that celebrates complexity and diversity. You can enjoy simple pleasures with rock music, and refined pleasures with Bach. Wine is no different.

Being demanding is not about being pretentious. It is about respecting the winemaker’s craft and the expectations of the wine lover. Forty-seven years in an unforgiving industry prove one thing: authenticity always prevails.

Twenty three team members, several nationalities, one shared love of wine. We are a company of passionate individuals from different horizons. Everyone greets everyone – simple, yet revealing. This everyday humanity creates the atmosphere our visitors immediately feel.

Our egalitarian profit-sharing model reflects this collective vision of success. We grant significant autonomy, we train intensively, and then we trust completely. The result? People grow at DIVA.

Wine, our living heritage

Beyond wine trading, DIVA carries a mission: to defend this wine culture that belongs to a broader European tradition, one rooted in reason, in the celebration of complexity, and in the appreciation of nuance. Our quality wines are not brands; they are terroir-driven creations that form part of our shared heritage.

In a world that moves too fast, we continue to take the time for subtle pleasure.

This story is written every day: turning commerce into an art of living, transforming each transaction into a human encounter, cultivating excellence the way one cultivates friendship.
